Beausejour Centennial Quilt Project

A few of  the centennial blocks
All blocks will be on display at the St. James Anglican Church Quilt Show May 11 and 12
as well as during the Beausejour Centennial Celebrations August 3 - 6.

Common Threads Quilt Group is organizing a Centennial Quilt Project but rather than making one large quilt, we are inviting you to make a mini quilt depicting something about Beausejour that has meaning to you. These quilts will be displayed at the 2012 St. James Anglican Church Quilt Show and then individually or in groups at locations throughout Beausejour for the remainder of our centennial year ... 2012 ... and specifically during the centennial celebrations. The only stipulations are that each quilt must measure 12" square and have black binding.

Think about what Beausejour means to you, whether you live here, do business here, worship here, or visit here for any reason (family, sports, recreation) to create your quilt. The quilt can be as simple as using t-shirts with your business or community group logo. It can also be a drawing done on fabric or it can be as intricate as you like using any method.

Need help making your quilt?

1) Starter kit: plain fabric for the top (background), backing, binding, batting and basic instructions ... $10

2) You create the top (or supply us with a t-shirt representing your business or organization) and have our group make it into a quilt for you ... $25 ($15 tax receipt will be issued).  (If you request us to print your logo on fabric or there is extra work involved in creating the quilt block, there will be an extra charges.)

3) Bring your own supplies and join us at designated quilt meetings to get help with your quilt ... $1 to attend each meeting

Personal entries and community group entries are free of charge. Business entries require a minimum $25 donation for which a tax receipt will be issued. All monies raised will be donated for upkeep of the century old St. James Anglican Church.

Finished quilts can be dropped off at any of our meetings or by contacting us to make other arrangements.
Deadlines:
Top only: January 1/12  - Even though this deadline has passed we are still taking some entries, please contact me.
Finished quilt: April 1/12
